Website Resume

Description

Website Resume is a modern digital resume built with a responsive, interactive layout. Instead of a static PDF, it presents work experience, skills, and projects as a clean single-page site that reads well on any device.

Styled with Tailwind CSS, it focuses on a polished, readable presentation with clear typography, sensible spacing, and smooth interactions that make browsing a resume feel more engaging than a document.

Background

A PDF resume is fine for printing but limited online: it is hard to make responsive, awkward to link to, and difficult to keep visually consistent with a personal brand. This project reimagines the resume as a live web page that is easy to share, always up to date, and mobile-friendly.

Goal

  • Present resume content in a responsive, interactive format.
  • Keep the layout clean and readable across desktop and mobile.
  • Provide a shareable live URL as an alternative to a PDF.

Features

  • Responsive design for desktop and mobile
  • Interactive, single-page navigation
  • Clean, elegant UI/UX layout
  • Smooth scrolling experience
  • Utility-first styling with Tailwind CSS
  • Sections for experience, skills, and projects
  • Lightweight, fast-loading structure

Technologies

  • HTML — semantic structure for resume sections.
  • Tailwind CSS — utility-first styling for responsive layout and consistent design.
  • JavaScript — small interactions and smooth scrolling behavior.

How to Run

git clone https://github.com/FannyDevz/Resume.git
cd Resume

# Open directly in a browser
open index.html

# Or serve it locally
npx serve
# then visit the printed localhost URL

Technical Decisions

  • Tailwind CSS over custom CSS — utility classes keep styling consistent and make responsive tweaks fast without maintaining a large stylesheet.
  • Single-page layout — all resume content on one scrollable page keeps navigation simple and the file lightweight.
  • Static hosting — no backend needed, so it deploys cheaply and loads quickly.

What I Learned

  • Translating a traditional resume into a responsive web layout.
  • Using Tailwind utilities to build a clean design quickly.
  • Balancing visual polish with fast load times for a static site.

Notes

It was previously hosted at resume.fanny.dev, which is no longer active — the resume now lives on the main site at /resume/ . The source remains on GitHub. As a static site it has no backend or CMS; content updates are made directly in the markup. Future ideas include a print-optimized stylesheet and a downloadable PDF export.
